Racing Team Schroten announces adjusted lineup
The Dutch team announces sweeping changes to provide a wake-up shock in the second part of its Supercup return season.
The long-awaited return to the Supercup has not yet brought its dreamed results for the Dutch outfit, as the team has struggled to score points in its early-2016 campaign. Crashes and real-life restraints have left the team in a far-from-ideal situation. For the second part of the season, the team has announced some changes on its way to glory.
Before the Canadian GP, Toikka announced his departure from the team as he focuses on Finnish iRacing. Replacing him will be old Supercup regular Patrick Gatewood. "Patrick has experience in the GPVWC community, and knows how to finish a car in point-scoring positions. We are sure his dedication and talent will strengthen us as a team", Roy commented.
It's not all bad news however, as Riera's steady results have brought the team from the bottom place in the constructors' standings. A strong result in Monaco and Canada has seen him moving up in the drivers' standings. Toikka, however, had not met the aimed results due to crashes, bad luck and missed races. In Canada, he was covered by old friend-of-the-team and Formula Challenge driver Fournier. The Frenchman scored a strong haul of points, and together with Riera marked the first double-points finish, bringing hope for the future.
And the future will start soon, as next week sees the British GP, an event at which Gatewood will eager to show his talent on home grounds, while Riera will try to continue his streak of strong results
